The Smarter Europe 2022, the world’s most influential and largest professional exhibition and trade fair for the solar energy and energy storage industry, was grandly opened at the New International Exhibition Centre (NIEC) in Munich for three days.
The Smarter Europe includes Intersolar and EES segments, and the exhibition brings together many famous domestic and foreign companies with new energy storage products. VTech Energy Storage summarised the new energy storage products of 10 companies, the specific information is as follows:
HUAWEI
During the development of Intersolar Europe 2022, HUAWEI intelligent photovoltaic legion held the 2022 overseas new product conference and debuted with a new generation of full-scene intelligent optical storage solutions. The solution is geared towards five major scenarios: large ground, energy storage power station, industrial and commercial, household and smart microgrid.
It is reported that the unique intelligent string energy storage architecture developed by HUAWEI can be flexibly applied to peak and frequency regulation scenarios, with five major technical points:
1, a pack an optimisation to achieve independent charging and discharging of battery packs, to avoid series mismatch;
2、One cluster one management can avoid the risk of parallel mismatch and circulating current, and the system charging and discharging capacity can be increased by 15%;
3、Distributed temperature control enables each cluster to dissipate heat independently, extending battery life by 50%;
4. Combined with modular design to guarantee high efficiency and reliability of the system, the overall LCOS can be reduced by 20%;
5、At the same time, it has four levels of active shutdown + two levels of passive protection, realising the active early warning of the energy storage system and comprehensively guaranteeing the system safety.
CATL
CATL brought four products to this exhibition, covering the full range of applications on the power generation side, transmission and distribution side, and power consumption side of energy storage.
One of them is EnerOne, an outdoor liquid-cooled energy storage cabinet that won the 2022 International Battery Energy Storage Award (ees AWARD). EnerOne adopts a 280Ah Li-FePO4 core with a cycle life of up to 10,000 times; the temperature difference can be controlled to less than 3 degrees Celsius; the footprint is only 1.69 square meters, which can be reduced by 35%; and it has a wide range of working voltages, which is compatible with inverters between 600V and 1,500V. A wide range of operating voltages, compatible with inverters between 600V and 1500V.
By the end of 2021, CATL EnerOne has been sold to more than 25 countries worldwide, with a cumulative shipment of more than 11GWh.
The second is the EnerC containerised liquid-cooled energy storage product, which has both IP55 protection and C5 corrosion protection, and can perfectly adapt to all climatic scenarios such as extreme cold, high temperature, high humidity, deserts, oceans, etc., with an areal energy density of 259.7kWh/m2, which is nearly 200% higher than that of traditional air-cooled systems.
The third is the UPS lithium battery cabinet EnerU for the energy storage side, which provides a 6C discharge solution for UPS applications with both safety and high rate performance. The system is further secured by mechanical and thermal insulation, which prevents heat spread in the event of thermal runaway of a single unit.
The fourth is the 48100 base station power box. The product adopts high security lithium iron phosphate battery cells and 3U modular design, which can be flexibly configured according to the different system backup time, and can support up to 16 power boxes in parallel to meet the application requirements of multiple scenarios.
LG
In this exhibition, LG Energy launched two new energy storage products, respectively for housing ESS product “RESU FLEX”, and grid-level energy storage system overall solution.
At the same time, LG New Energy also launched for the first time in the application of energy storage system lithium iron phosphate battery prototype, the battery model is divided into two types, 182Wh and 444Wh, than the existing ternary batteries cheaper than the existing 20% -30%, and the battery can be based on the customer’s needs.
LG is also launching its Reuse business, which uses recycled retired power batteries from EVs to create energy storage systems connected to solar energy and use them in EV charging stations.
Sunwoda
Sunwoda unveiled a total of three home energy storage solution products, namely the latest home energy storage SunESS 15kWh stacked energy storage cabinet, Atrix rack mounted energy storage, and 300W portable energy storage.
Among them, the SunESS home stacked energy storage system adopts a cutting-edge lithium battery storage system with long life and high quality, which is compatible with three-phase, single-phase and split-phase power distribution solutions.Meanwhile, LG New Energy has also debuted a prototype lithium iron phosphate battery for energy storage system applications, with two battery models, 182Wh and 444Wh, which is 20-30 per cent cheaper than existing ternary batteries, and which can be tailored to meet customers’ needs.
